I am an executive leader and a serial intrapreneur focused on innovation and design thinking. My purpose in life is to create products and services that make the world a better place to live in.

My “Secret Sauce” for Success

  • A clear vision of the end-result with an agile pivoting capability
  • Energetic and motivated teams with diverse expertise areas
  • A fun and professional environment
  • Focus on creating products & services that makes the world a better place to live in

In the course of my 17-year career, I have developed a deep understanding and expertise in strategy, global research & development, technology commercialization and product & service development, partnerships and mergers & acquisitions. Secured a total of over $30M funding from boards and, combining strategic thinking with strong execution skills, created businesses from the ground up. As a result, captured three new and previously unserved markets that resulted in a total of $15M+/year revenue, which continues to increase year over year.

Building a new business is an intense, multi-disciplinary and evolving activity, which faces many real and fear-driven threats to its success. Throughout my career, I have learned how to build high-performance, agile teams that not only deliver to project expectations but also catalyze enterprise-level change. I work with similar ease with board members, C-level executives, designers, software developers, marketing people, salespeople, lawyers, financial people, HR professionals, to name a few.

I have worked in a number of industries to apply basic principles of new business development. Some interesting examples from the past include a multi-million dollar drug discovery instrument for a Canadian medical device company; an investment feasibility study for international investors in the defence industry; and a risk analysis for a one-person start-up in the home improvement industry.

I am also passionate about nurturing the next generation of business innovators. I am the creator and the Lead Instructor for the Business Innovation Certificate Program, as well as various workshops and seminars on New Product Development, at University of Toronto, School of Continuing Studies.

In addition, I give speeches, participate in panel discussions and volunteer as a coach and mentor to budding entrepreneurs.
